Botox®, Dysport®, Xeomin®
Botox®, Xeomin®, and Dysport® can help prevent or treat the wrinkles and lines formed by expressions on your face, helping to create a smoother and more youthful look. These neurotoxins are injectable medications that relax muscles, helping to smooth out lines and wrinkles.
During your in-person consultation our medical staff examines you and works with you to create a treatment plan addressing your appearance goals. The neurotoxin solution is administered in a series of injections, targeting the muscles which are creating the lines. Discomfort is minimal, and you can resume your daily routine immediately. There may be minor redness or swelling, but these quickly go away.
You will begin to see results from your treatment within several days. Over the course of 3 to 4 months your muscle movement will come back gradually and maintenance appointment will be necessary to help you maintain your results. Treatment areas include: frown lines, forehead lines, crows feet, brow lift, bunny lines, lip flips, jelly eye roll, Nefertiti Neck lift, gummy smile, hyperhydrosis, and masseters (TMJ).

Botox®
Botox® is an injectable botulinum toxin used to temporarily relax the muscles in the face which contribute to fine lines and wrinkles. Botox is a brand name medication and was the first to receive FDA approval and hit the market, therefore, it has the most brand name recognition. Wrinkle relaxation procedures are done in office, and have zero downtime. You may go back to your daily activities immediately. You will start seeing results within 3 to 4 days following treatment. Since Botox treatments are temporary you will need to have repeat treatments every 3-4 months if you would like to maintain your results.

Dysport®
Dysport® is one of several injectables that belong to a class of treatments called neurotoxins or neuromodulators. It is very similar to Botox. This treatment is designed to reduce wrinkles and fine lines on the face and neck and works by relaxing muscles that form expression lines. Before any neurotoxin treatment, our medical professionals will work with you to evaluate your unique situation and create a custom treatment plan. In most cases the brand of neurotoxin comes down to personal preference, so it never hurts to try different brands and see which one you prefer for yourself. Like all neurotoxins, Dysport requires ongoing treatments to remain effective. Our team will help you create a schedule that’s effective for your goals.
Treatment typically takes 20 minutes or less. Our injection specialists will target the areas to treat, and make a series of injections. You can resume your daily routine immediately post treatment. Most patients report seeing improvements 1-2 days after treatment, with continued improvement for 2 weeks. Dysport treatments should be repeated every three to four months so you maintain optimum results.

xeomin®
Xeomin® is also a brand of neurotoxin, very similarly to Botox and Dysport. It also reduces facial lines and wrinkles by blocking the muscle contractions that cause them. It is one of the most popular brands at Aspen Aesthetics.
Xeomin is produced with a unique process that isolates the therapeutic component of the molecule, removing unrelated proteins. Many patients prefer this neuromodulator because it feels more natural while still reducing their facial movement effectively to treat and prevent wrinkles. Patients start seeing improvements in their lines and wrinkles 4 days after injection. Improvement will continue for a couple of weeks. Generally, the results will last a few months by which time you will be scheduled to come back in for a re-treatment in order to maintain your results.

what is the difference between Dysport® and botox®?
Many people are unaware that there are in fact different brands of Toxins available for their wrinkle relaxation treatments. Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are each brand names, and slightly different strains of botulinum toxin, and manufactured by different companies. There are slight differences in price for each brand. Having more choices for your brand of neurotoxin means that you can further customize your medication to your personal needs and preferences. Our injection specialists will sit down during an in person consultation and discuss your treatment goals, as well as walk you through the benefits and risks of each unique brand of medication.

Masseter Botox® is also known as Botox for TMJ, Jaw Botox, or Botox for facial slimming. This treatment involves a series of injections into the Masseter muscles, which are the muscles that help you chew. These muscles can get thick, especially if you’re inclined to clench or grind your teeth. If you have TMJ, this treatment can reduce the pain in the joints of your jaw. Many patients report a reduction in headaches when they wake up in the morning in the months that follow this treatment. As an added bonus, when these muscles are treated with Tox, the muscle will shrink over time, giving you a more V shaped jawline. If a more feminine streamlined face is what you are seeking this might be the treatment for you.

Botox®, or any brand of Tox can be injected into the muscle of your upper lip. This is especially effective if your upper lip curls under when you smile. Treatments usually take about 10 to 20 minutes. Our injection specialists will cover your treatment plan before we begin, then make very targeted injections. Discomfort is usually minimal and many people find distraction tools like a fan and vibrating tool very effective in making injections more tolerable. Small “mosquito bite” looking bumps are common after treatment and will resolve on their own within 30 minutes following your visit.
After treatment, patients typically show a progression of reduction in fine lines and wrinkles over the course of 2 weeks. Soon, patients report a natural, more smooth and youthful appearance.
